Valerie Goldstein is a social worker, writer, and mother of three children. In the year 2000, Valerie was a passenger in a motor vehicle accident, leaving her an incomplete quadriplegic. Valerie attended Stony Brook University for her undergraduate and Master’s degrees. She wrote the children’s book, Violet’s Victory, as well as various works on different abilities. Valerie also conducts presentations on different abilities for children at the elementary age level, and takes part in public speaking engagements. She recently was an honoree for Stony Brook’s 40 Under Forty. Valerie is currently an Advanced Medium Term Trainee for Stony Brook University’s Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program, and is honored to be assisting with Spinal Cord Injury-related research at Stony Brook University.
